Whats On

We've got a busy month ahead in December, with quite a few village bookings for our Christmas offerings which is always nice to see - and of course saves a taxi! We've a few dates left if you fancy booking in last minute, for menus please see elsewhere on this website or come into the pub.

Coming up on Friday 19th December, we've got the Waterly Bottom Mummers performing in the pub at around 9pm, it’ll be 10 minutes of pure pleasure raising funds for a Wotton charity 'Keepers' based in Symn Lane if you can make it.

If you would like a surprise gift for Christmas, throughout the month we've got some cracking new artwork from Leon Wilson Fine Arts, please see poster attached.

In January we're resurrecting the Beaufort's Burns night which should be on the 25th but, because that's a Sunday, we've switched to Saturday 24th January, please look for ads on this website or in the pub.

And talking of resurrecting, our Late Late Harvest Home on 15th November was the most successful ever, with an amazing £1,291.15 raised for Props.Brilliant Auctioneer Chris had the generous audience in the palm of his hands, and bids came in left right and Chelsea, ably assisted by Dave Harris and Louise.

Harris Bear was the star lot and achieved a superb £100 alone - I can't thank donors and bidders enough. Harris had been to Scotland with Liz & Sam and came home complete with a sporran and short-bread biscuits - he'd even been to a Shortbread Factory...

The disappointment was huge when we first had to cancel, so when Smiffy, Han and Nick came up with a plan for a Late Late Harvest Home (and got ace auctioneer Chris on board), we went for it. Despite the lack of vegetables - not necessarily fruit! - it seems like everybody got baking and pickling.

Anniversary couple Josie & Keith (53 years and counting...), Fiona & Dick, Dilly, Nick & Han, Jen & Shaun and a host of others all chipped in to make it the most successful night ever. £200 was raised alone on the raffle, with Chris & Sal selling the tickets, special thanks to Claire for popping home to get us extras.

The bidders completed the evening, egged on by the auctioneer, with everyone being so kind and generous and having a great laugh, I'm sure Props will be delighted with the effort our little community achieved. I can't thank people enough, Props is a great cause and so many rose to the occasion, it was heartwarming.

Have a great Christmas from Mark, Fiona and our whole team at the Beaufort. The only day we're on reduced hours will be Christmas Day (11am - 1pm sharp) and we will be on extended hours New Year's Eve.
