Brewery History Talk - January 2005

On Wednesday 12th January 2005 the Beaufort, supported by Dursley and District sub-branch of CAMRA, hosted a Brewery History Talk by Mike Bone (Chairman of the Association of Industrial Archaeology).

The event was a huge success attended by people from all over the Gloucestershire CAMRA area, who mixed amicably with locals and dignitaries from the Wickwar Brewing Co. and the Brewery History Society (of whom Jeff Sechiari kindly supplied this photo).

Over seventy people crowded out our skittle alley, many chipping in for a pint of Station Porter - which raised over £80 for the tsunami fund.

Mike's talk went down extremely well with a receptive crowd, telling the story of west country breweries. In fact Mike was so pleased he donated his expenses (£30) to the local Babe appeal.

Many thanks to all who made the effort to come from near and wide to make it such a fun evening.
