War hero Gordon Prime is seen here with our Gromit Harmony yesterday (28th August) on his annual pilgrimage to Hawkesbury.
Gordon is a Normandy veteran from Tenby branch of the British Legion and has been a visitor to the Beaufort for nearly our entire 19 years here. He lost a valuable friend and comrade from Hawkesbury, despatch rider Burt Stinchcombe, right at the end of the war and has never forgotten him.
He was here with friends and colleagues from Wales and they all loved our Gromit – a pleasant surprise to them all. If it wasn’t for the likes of Gordon and his pals, we probably wouldn’t be enjoying our summer so much with the Unleashed Trail. The Beaufort is Hawkesbury’s Legion HQ.
